Position Summary:
Designs, develops, layouts, documents and supervises manufacturing, testing and application of kits and handler interface solutions. Interfaces with customer, supplier, sales, customer service engineer and team members with minimal guidance.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Follow engineering procedures and specifications to develop Kit related mechanical designs. Generate Design Documentation, detail part drawings per ASME 14.5 standard, Assembly drawings and Bills of Materials.
Designs and monitors the development of device kit and/or modified designs.
Effects kit design refinement and/or advancement to meet constant changes in customer preferences or requirements.
Provides services to kit users on kit applications and technology.
Actively participates in all phases of the project, including requirement definition, design, development, research, fabrication, testing/integration, customer interface, maintenance, safety and economic utilization used in the manufacture of device kits.
Modify fabricated parts from redlined drawings or verbal instruction.
Generate Engineering Change Orders and Bill of materials
Assures on-time availability of kit design to manufacturing and customers.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree (Passed Board/Professional License Exam) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered)
Required skill(s): Familiarity with Solidworks, Pro-E, Inventor, Mechanical Desktop, with practical experience on ECO documentation
Preferred skill(s): Tool & Die Engineer, Design Engineer, CAD Instructor, Machine Shop, Manufacturing
Experience with other 3D modeling programs an advantage. (Training will be provided if required)
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
Travel required in support of successful customer product acceptance.
Self motivated with leadership qualities.
