The QA Analyst serves as an integral member of a global team to design, build, test and deliver Towers Watson’s technology products to our external or internal clients. This role works with Towers Watson’s proprietary and/or industry-leading systems and applications and ensures that these are designed and built according to agreed-upon technical specifications and quality standards.
Key Accountabilities / Duties:
Excellence
Execute manual test scenarios or “use cases” to determine the accuracy and usability of new products, product enhancements, or reports
Create use cases from functional requirements and/or technical specifications
Re-test defect fixes to ensure issues are resolved
Regularly evaluate team’s and own process and product to identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement
Clients
Carefully document and report testing outcomes; report issues promptly
Work with Developers and technical leads to clarify and/or demonstrate issues
Financial
Assist product managers with determining the level of effort necessary to thoroughly test the product, enhancement, or report for input into the development planning phase
People
Assist peers with issue resolution and peer technical reviews when requested
Provide informal feedback on team performance
The Requirements
Requirements:
- Proficiency in English
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in a technology related discipline, such as IT or Engineering
- 1-3 years experience working as a software tester, preferably with web applications
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Familiarity with the following: SQL and SDLC
- Experience using defect tracking tools
- Strong writing and detail-oriented documentation skills
- Foundational understanding of a client service focus (internal or external clients)
- Structured problem solving and analytical thinking
- Continuous improvement mindset – increasing task efficiency and effectiveness with each product delivery
- Knowledge of software testing best practices and methodologies and experience creating test plans based on requirements documentation is strongly desired
