Great team work. Everyone was good at lifting spirits and keeping the work environment a constructive and fun place. We often had free lunches as a reward for good work.

HR Manager (Former Employee) –  MalmesburyFebruary 7, 2018
Not a great place to work. If your face fits....great. If it doesn't then you have no chance. HR is shocking, Management is worse. Company moving at great pace but struggling to keep up. Thinks it's an Apple but it's nowhere near.
Pros
Great Products
Cons
Management, processes, pay, Hr

Customer Experience Specialist (Current Employee) –  Aurora, ILFebruary 5, 2018
Dyson is a great place to work. It's a place were you can get much more experience and learning problem solving skills everyday. I feel proud going to work at Dyson, despite grumpy customers because throughout the day, I get to be a great help to at least 50+ people by solving their problems or recommending them the perfect machine that fits their needs.
Pros
learning, hands-on experience
Cons
should pay a little bit more because CES jobs are not easy

A great place to work, although better communication between upper and low level employees is needed.
If customer service and fixing vacuums is right for you, go for it!!!

Great Company But......
Mechanical Engineer (Former Employee) –  Malmesbury, WiltshireJanuary 26, 2018
I had been working in Dyson Research for a few years. In general the company is good especially the top-level management and insight view to the future.

The main problem of this organisation, at this moment, is that level of management just above staff at fundamental layer and brown-nose culture at this layer is getting worse to allow some "ambitious" guys to acquire power during expansion of the company, not based on their skills.

I left the company and appreciate the chance given to learn and grow. I wish Dyson a bright future.
Pros
Top level management, Work life balance
Cons
brown-nose culture, politics and even bully

Advanced Design engineer (Current Employee) –  Malmesbury, WiltshireJanuary 24, 2018
The people are great. and the company is rapidly changing to create a company that gives the employees a great life, with on site gym, sports center classes and flexible working hours among some of the new changes being made.

The management structure and how decisions get made and why can be baffling sometimes and can be very frustrating but they are always trying to push forward and make decision to do so.
Pros
flex hours, on site gym and classes
Cons
in the middle on no where

Not for everyone
Sales Expert (Former Employee) –  SheffieldJanuary 24, 2018
I will start by saying the pay is AMAZING however if you are not a natural sales person and do not have tough skin when it comes to rejection this is not the job for you as the targets are hard to stick to if you do not literally talk to anyone and everyone!

You will be thrown in the deep end pretty much so you need to be able to work off your own initiative.

The management wasn't great as only had the regional manager looking after us and only really heard from them personally every few weeks which isn't great when you're newly starting out and are needing support.

The trips away with work are great and they book you into 4 star and 5 star hotels and pay for all the food.
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Hard targets and not a lot of support from management

Dyson Expert (Current Employee) –  Lower Mainland, BCJanuary 23, 2018
Everyday is a new day and new challenges that are easily overcome. Great company to work for. Communication is a bit lacking as some of the higher management are quite busy dealing with the rest of the experts throughout the nation.
On a working day, you are required to bring the demo units along with you that the company has provided for you in order to showcase to potential customers.
The most enjoyable part is meeting new people everyday and overcoming their objectives of the products.

Do Not Care About Staff and Lots of Politics
Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee) –  Malmesbury, WiltshireJanuary 17, 2018
Its a stressed place to work for. Sometimes you cannot focus on/enjoy your technical work as lots of politics around and you have to watch out people doing relationships (flatter) with their manager to promote themselves and depress you. so your life in the working place may be difficult.

Working place culture is getting worse and worse over past years accompany with its expansion. Not recommended.
Pros
Good work/life balance
Cons
Poor work place culture

Business Development Manager (Former Employee) –  Malmesbury, WiltshireJanuary 9, 2018
Good company to work for but they could look after their staff better. Limited progression and very hierarchy based.
Salaries are also around 10-15% lower than the average for the relevant roles.

Fluid Dynamics Engineer - Advanced (Current Employee) –  MalmesburyDecember 31, 2017
Good work-life balance. 8 hours and then sprint home. Flexible working hours. Funds available for training. Plenty of interesting and challenging work. Great food options at lunch. Onsite gym. Environment always changing. Hectic mismanagment of projects at times. Typical office politics. Opaque advancement process.
Pros
Flexible working hours. No dress code. Good quality cheap food.
Cons
Advancement process is opaque. Low pay for sector.

Constantly evolving and creating opportunity for personal improvement
Logistics analyst (Current Employee) –  Malmesbury, WiltshireDecember 22, 2017
Dyson is far from conventional, but its such a great company to work for. in an economy where people are striving for a little bit of growth, Dyson have grown double digits every year in 25 years.

I have been at Dyson as a analyst for 2.5 years now, and have now received my first promotion. Some people will say that advancement is scarce and hard to obtain, but in truth we are responsible for our own advancement.

if you are the type of person that will through your job description in your managers face when asked to do a little extra then of course you wont advance.

However, if you have the right mindset, a good set of skills and are able to adapt and learn quickly, then this place is an oasis of opportunity. since joining i have travelled the globe, met new people, grown my skill set and all of this is off my own back. it helps that i have a very good manager and she is very supportive if you are willing to work hard and show commitment.

nothing is handed to you on a plate in this world but if you show the right determination, the world really is what you make of it at Dyson.

I look forward to a very long career at Dyson.
these are very exciting times.

I would recommend to any one looking to develop a career to seriously consider the prospects that can be had at Dyson.

Just to add, i have no degree, no amazing education. i am self taught in Excel and VBA. and i have a very hands on approach to any opportunity.
Pros
onsite free Gym, great food, great people, great opportunities
Cons
not for everyone. not the best at compensating salaries

It's extremely relaxed company wide. As far as flexibility, my department has a lot of it. But this varies from department to department as many of the other perks do.

Temporary Fixed Asset Accountant (Former Employee) –  MalmesburyDecember 15, 2017
This was a temporary contract replacing a person on maternity leave. The work was repetitive but in some parts challenging as I had to deal with some areas which were new to me.
The work involved interfacing with managers of different disciplines which was probably the most enjoyable part of the job.
Pros
Good Management
Cons
Repetitive work
